Full-Arch Restoration

Full-arch restoration offers patients a full arch of completely functional and natural-looking teeth. With fewer implants needed than if one were to receive multiple individual implants, the time it takes to receive a full-arch restoration is reduced, and there is also less recovery time.

What is full-arch restoration?

Sometimes, patients come to us because they require replacements for many teeth in either the upper or lower jaw and are interested in a more advanced solution than a conventional denture. At North Jersey Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, we are experts at full-arch restorations that utilize precision-placed dental implants to secure a custom-made fixed dental prosthesis.

Many patients are good candidates for this type of full-arch restoration even if they have bone loss in the jaw. Like individual implants, full-arch restorations are permanent, secure, and can prevent bone atrophy in the jaw, but take less time, are more cost-effective, and require less surgery. During your consultation with Dr. Friedman, Dr. Schulhof, or Dr. Montazem, you can discover if this is the ideal treatment option for you based on your condition and your tooth restoration goals.

Why choose a full-arch restoration over individual implants?

Every patient with multiple teeth to replace has their own restoration goals and needs. There are a few factors that both you and your oral surgeon will consider when determining if full-arch restoration is right for you. With reduced recovery time, a new smile with less of a wait, and the oral health benefits of dental implants, full-arch restoration is popular at our practice for many reasons, including

If you are interested in the ability to comfortably enjoy the foods you love, and speak and smile with confidence again, then you may want to consider full-arch restoration for your tooth replacement solution. Our team never tires of seeing the beautiful, brand-new smiles of our full-arch replacement patients!

The Full-Arch Restoration Procedure

Our two experienced oral surgeons perform full-arch restorations in the comfort of our state-of-the-art practice, in collaboration with your restorative dentist who will design and create your custom dental prosthesis. The first step is your consultation, during which your oral surgeon will plan your surgery, and you will discuss preferences regarding anesthesia. During your procedure, any teeth remaining in the dental arch that you are restoring will be removed, and implant posts will be accurately placed into your jaw bone. The surgical sites will be stitched closed, and you will rest until your anesthesia has worn off.

During your healing time, you may have the option of wearing a natural-looking temporary denture. One option is to leave with a set of temporary teeth, fabricated by an in-house lab technician, that same day! Once you have healed sufficiently, and the implants have fused with your jaw bone for a stable restoration, your permanent custom-made prosthesis will be attached to the implant posts in your jaw — and your full set of beautiful new teeth will be complete!
