Our surgeons have had years of experience in hospitals and emergency rooms repairing and healing every type of facial trauma injury with the least amount of visible scarring.

Facial trauma is always stressful, and we will do everything in our power to see you in our office as quickly as possible in the event of a facial injury. Some of the facial traumas we commonly see in our practice involve lacerations to the soft tissues of the skin and gums, factures of the facial bones, and injuries to regions such as the eyes, facial nerves, or the salivary glands, as well as dental injuries.

Common facial injuries include

• Facial lacerations (cuts)
• Intraoral lacerations (cuts inside the mouth)
• Teeth that have been knocked out (avulsed)
• Fractured facial bones
• Fractured jaws

How to handle a tooth that has been knocked out:

• Do not wipe off the tooth — remnants of the ligament that hold the tooth in the jaw are critical to successful reinsertion.
• Place the tooth in saliva or whole milk as soon as possible.
• Call North Jersey Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery or go to the emergency room to have it reinserted into the tooth socket.
• Please note that for more extreme injuries or injuries that occur after hours, you should go to the nearest hospital emergency room for treatment from the oral and maxillofacial surgeon on call.
